Bank Lane: Sketch showing one of the many narrow lanes that divide the ancent burgage plot layout of the town of Totnes.

Church House: The church house in the hamlet of Week, Dartington as it is today.


Court Room: The Village Hall in Staverton. This was once the local court house with a private chamber at one end with its own entrance.

Methodist Chapel: Originally built as a Methodist Chapel this building has a chequered history, even being used as an apple store for a cider making firm until its recent convertion to apartments.

The Ramparts: Two drawings of the rampart walk within, at one time, the encircling town wall of Totnes.

St. Mary’s Church: The Anglican Church, Totnes demonstrating the colour of the red sandstone walling and Beer limestone dressing.

Totnes Castle: A sketch of Totnes Castle seen from west showing, even today, its steep embankments and defensive position. The original motte and bailey was Saxon being replaced with a stone keep after the Norman Conquest.

Totnes Museum: The jettied gable-end merchant's house was originally built in the 16C. Now the town Museum. The substantial stone dividing walls are clearly seen in a structure that is predominantly timber.
